Hi.

For my 35th birthday I received three different kinds of salt and two copies of Women Who Run With the Wolves. I have no idea what this means, but I do like the symbolism, the archetype of salt. Salt is about bitterness and wisdom, the duality of experience creating strength. Salt Woman is about honoring our instincts, trusting ones intuition and gathering the skills to care for ones self and family, without the commercial nonsense that clouds our vision.

Plant Allies and herbs for Yoni Steam

Why Yoni Steam?

When we steam something, we open up the cellular membranes on the surface of the skin, (think of steaming your face and opening up the pores) allowing the body to take in or to release. A yoni steam is doing exactly that. The heat warms the mucosa and the glands of the yoni (the labia, vagina, cervix and uterus), allowing the labia to open and the inner folds of the yoni to drop down. The steam carries the medicinal properties of the herbs into the mucosa, allowing it to enter the body via the bloodstream.

There are a lot of ways to take in the medicinal properties of these herbs, via infusion/tea, tincture, powders, etc. But a yoni steam is an act of self love. This process allows us to connect with ourselves, our womb center in a truly healing and nourishing way. It is a sacred time to connect with ourselves and to release what no longer serves us.

The steam is typically done mid cycle, (a week after, or a week before your moontime)

  • avoid doing the yoni steam when you are bleeding, during your moontime
  • pregnant
  • have an IUD
  • have open sores or blisters
  • a serious infection, with fever

Instead, try a foot bath or facial steam. Remember, self-love and connecting with your womb center.

Benefits:
